LYNCHBURG, VA — June 30, 2016
TRAX has been awarded a new project with TVA, and will model a simulation system for the Allen Combined Cycle Plant under construction. The new Allen plant is a 2×1 combined cycle facility that will be capable of generating 1,100-megawatts when complete.
The simulator will feature the latest ProTRAX 7.4 modeling system, and will include two GE 7HA.02 Gas Turbines, two Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG), and one Toshiba Steam Turbine (ST) Generator and controls. The simulator will include virtual Emerson Ovation, virtual GE MarkVIe, and translated Toshiba controls. TVA will use the simulator to fully test all the Emerson, GE, and Toshiba controls prior to installation in the plant, thus reducing the plant commissioning time. TVA will also use the simulator to train new operators prior to plant startup.
