LYNCHBURG, VA — April 26, 2017
TRAX has been awarded a new project by CH2M Hill, and will perform a furnace draft study for the New Orleans Sewage and Water Board’s Carrollton Power Plant Unit 4. Carrollton is being updated with new draft fans, gas burners, and BMS controls.
TRAX will generate dynamic models of the furnace draft portion of the unit being studied (Unit 4), including process equipment and controls. The models with be subjected to a number of severe transients representing normal and abnormal operation. The primary goal of this study will be to predict the behavior of the unit in its future configuration and determine furnace draft pressure profiles. TRAX will examine the new equipment and new control logic that is part of this furnace draft study for compliance with NFPA 85 code, and make recommended changes to bring the proposed system into compliance.
