New Project – Jimah East Power Simulator

LYNCHBURG, VA — January 27, 2017

TRAX has been awarded a new project with Toshiba Corporation, and will build a ProTRAX simulation system for Jimah East Power in Malaysia.  The plant is an ultra-supercritical thermal power plant, and TRAX will model Unit 1.  This 1000 MW unit includes a pulverized coal-fired, wall-fired burner, balanced-draft, once-through boiler with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system.

TRAX will develop the full-scope simulator using the latest ProTRAX 7.4 modeling system. The simulator will use Toshiba TOSMAP to provide a virtual simulation of the Toshiba distributed control system (DCS) and HMI.  The simulator will also include a photo-quality emulation of control system hard panels in the plant.

In addition to the simulator, TRAX will provide simulator training programs dedicated to the training needs of plant operators. We will provide customized training curricula that is designed to improve operator efficiency in the plant.
